The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently inducted Wasim Akram to the PCB Hall of Fame for his services to Pakistan cricket.
Labeling it as an "immense honor", Wasim Akram said that he is delighted to for the PCB, the people responsible for voting, and most importantly, his supporters.
The Sultan of Swing took 414 wickets in Test cricket and managed to dismiss batters 502 times in the ODIs. In addition to that, he also scored 2898 runs in the longest format of the game while managing 3717 runs in the one-day format.

Afridi claimed that he owes much of his international success to legendary Wasim Akram under whom he played 58 ODIs and 5 Test matches, which are the most after Misbah-ul-Haq.
"This is an incredible recognition and award for an incredible legend. Wasim Akram was one of my heroes and it was an honor playing with him. I owe so much of my success as a cricketer to Wasim Bhai. Good job PCB in recognizing the services of an all-time great" wrote Shahid Afridi on his Twitter.

Wasim Akram has now joined Hanif Mohammad, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Zaheer Abbas, Fazal Mahmood, Abdul Qadir, and his bowling partner Waqar Younis.
The criteria for selection states that:
Players with an impeccable career who had a positive impact on Pakistan and international cricket, in addition to their outstanding statistical records, will be considered for induction.
Inductees must be retired from international cricket for, at least, five years.
