Shahid Afridi praises Shahnawaz Dahani's "incredible potential"

Former captain of Pakistan Cricket Team Shahid Afridi congratulated his former team Multan Sultans and praised Shahnawaz Dahani on his match-winning bowling spell.

Boom Boom Afridi who was part of Multan Sultans in HBL PSL 6 but was not part of the Abu Dhabi leg where they were crowned Champions. Afridi recently showed his concern in a TV show on Dahani’s performance. He added that the young lad has a lot of potential and is overdoing his celebrations.

The very next day Dahani changed the course of the match on his own helping the defending champions to reach their second consecutive final. Lahore Qalandars were chasing 164 and lost three wickets with just forty-eight runs on the board, Top run-scorer of the tournament Fakhar Zaman had other ideas as he hit three consecutive sixes to Imran Tahir and completely shifted the momentum of the game.

Dahani came to bowl in the fourteenth over when the match was in a crucial stage where Lahore required 65 runs of 42 balls. 

Dahani gave just five runs and picked up the important wicket of inform Harry Brook.

In the second over of his spell, he removed Phil Salt and gave away just three runs putting the Qalandars under immense pressure.

Multan Sultans cruised towards the final by beating Qalandars by 28 runs. Shahnawaz Dahani got the Man of the Match award for his game-changing spell. Sultans will now play the final of HBL PSL 7 on Sunday against the winner of Eliminator two.
