Pakistan cricket team captain, Babar Azam, was missing from a dinner party hosted by former captain Shahid Afridi last week.

Afridi shared the pictures of the dinner saying, “Hosted Pakistan’s heroes for dinner, super proud of each one of you. Good luck for tomorrow [PakvsNZ match]”.

Fans on social media were quick to notice Pakistan captain’s absence and started searching for any clues in pictures and videos shared by Afridi.

Afridi was on Monday inquired about Babar’s absence from the party, to which he replied, “Shaheen said to me that some players wanted to meet and have dinner with me. I said whoever wants to come, can come. Whoever wanted to come, came [for dinner].”

The dinner party was attended by several members of the Pakistan cricket team, including Shadab Khan, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, among others.

Afridi had announced last week on a local TV channel, that he has invited the Pakistan team for dinner.

“I have invited Pakistan team for dinner tonight so I will feed sheep to them, so they are stronger on the field in the fourth ODI against New Zealand on Friday,” Afridi had said.

The absence of Babar did not go unnoticed, and fans took to social media to speculate about the reasons behind his absence. Some fans speculated that he might have opted to skip the dinner party for personal reasons or some professional commitments.
