Indian captain Rohit Sharma has reached a unique milestone as he became only the fourth player in ODI history to hit 250 sixes. However, Shahid Afridi still remains on top of the list with 351 sixes.

Sharma reached the milestone in the first ODI against England where the opening batsman scored a brilliant 76 off only 58 deliveries including 5 maximums.

India chased down the 111-run target without a loss of a wicket and with 30 overs to spare, stamping their authority over the home side.

The list elite list now includes Shahid Afridi, Universal Boss Chris Gayle, and flamboyant Sri Lankan opener Sanath Jayasuriya. Sharma is the only batsman who's currently still playing to have made his way onto the list.

  1. Shahid Afridi - 351 sixes (6,892 balls)
  2. Chris Gayle - 331 sixes (12,019 balls)
  3. Sanath Jayasuriya - 270 sixes (14,725 balls)
  4. Rohit Sharma - 250 sixes (10,486 balls)

In addition to this, Sharma has also become the second-fastest player to reach the milestone as Chris Gayle and Sanath Jayasuriya took more than 10,486 deliveries each. In that regard, Shahid Afridi still maintains his position at the top of that list as well.
