Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan lost his composure on Day five of the first Test against Pakistan at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The incident occurred during the 33rd over of Pakistan’s second innings when Shakib became visibly frustrated with Mohammad Rizwan, who was batting alongside Abdullah Shafique.

Rizwan was taking an unusually long time to settle at the crease, disrupting Shakib’s rhythm. In response, Shakib threw the ball toward Rizwan, leaving the umpire visibly shocked.

Shakib has a history of on-field confrontations, and this episode only added to that list. However, he later realized his mistake and apologized to the umpire, who responded with a stern look.

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto also approached the umpire to complain about Rizwan’s time-wasting tactics, but the umpire did not seem overly concerned.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Faruque Ahmed announced on Saturday that a decision regarding Shakib Al Hasan's future would be made after the ongoing Test against Pakistan.

Shakib was named in a murder case filed on Thursday, August 22, by Rafiqul Islam, the father of Rubel, a garment factory worker who was killed on August 5 in Dhaka's Adabor area.

Following these serious accusations, Supreme Court lawyer Shajib Mahmood Alam sent a legal notice to the BCB on Saturday, on behalf of Advocate Md Rafinur Rahman, demanding Shakib's immediate removal from all forms of cricket.

The notice, which was obtained by Cricbuzz, emphasizes that as Shakib has been implicated in a criminal case, he cannot remain a part of the national cricket team under the International Cricket Council (ICC) regulations.
