Shadab Khan is not available after sustaining an injury during BBL
Left-handed batter Shan Masood has been named as deputy of Babar Azam for the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand in Karachi.
Shan will be the vice-captain after Shadab Khan got ruled out of the series due to a finger injury. The 24-year-old injured his index finger while representing Hobart Hurricanes in the ongoing season 12 of the Big Bash League (BBL).
The Men in Green announced a 16-member squad for the series yesterday. Three uncapped players, Kamran Ghulam, Tayyab Tahir and Usama Mir, were named while Haris Sohail returned after two years.
The matches will be played on January 9, 11 and 13 at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.
