Pakistan opener is currently in Cape Town
Pakistan opener Shan Masood has travelled to South Africa, where he has joined former cricketer Gary Kirsten’s academy, inorder to sort out the technical issues with his batting.
The left-handed opener was dropped from the Test side after a disappointing tour of New Zealand, where he could only score 10 runs in four innings, which included three ducks.
Masood is in Cape Town from the past few days, where he is closely working with Kirsten in a bid to improve his technique and regain form with the bat. The head coach of the 2011 World Cup-winning Indian team is providing valuable guidance to the struggling opener.

After spending two weeks in Cape Town, Masood will return to Karachi next week.
Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim, during an interview, had said that there were some technical issues in Masood’s batting which led to the latter’s exclusion from the national side. However, Masood was not invited to the National High Performance Centre (NHPC) in Lahore to work on his game with coaches.
Masood travelled to South Africa after being granted permission by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The 31-year-old will be keen on impressing the selectors with his performance in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) six matches. Although, his return to the national side might only possible during Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh in November — which included two Test matches.
