Former speedster Shoaib Akhtar has warned Pakistan captain Babar against becoming 'Sarfaraz part two’ and advised him to exercise his authority in team selection.

Akhtar had previously criticised former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed for letting ex-head coach Mickey Arthur dominate in selections during the wicketkeeper’s captaincy tenure.

“We are hearing that Babar Azam is calling [Pakistan Cricket Board] and saying that his suggestions have been ignored regarding squad selection. If Babar Azam is so hurt and wants to be become a brand, then he should resign right now and send a message that this can’t happen again. If he doesn’t do this, then he will become Sarfaraz part two,” Akhtar said on PTV Sports.

Few media reports recently claimed that Pakistan captain Babar Azam was unhappy with certain selections in the squad for the upcoming Africa tour and shared his grievances with PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan.

However, PCB representative maintains that there is no truth to the aforementioned reports and said that all decisions have been taken after discussions between Chief Selector and team management.
