Pakistan cricketers Ahmed Shehzad and Shoaib Malik have shared their reactions following the national team's victory over Canada in the T20 World Cup 2024 match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on June 11.

Shehzad expressed his thoughts on the win on the social media platform 'X,' highlighting the importance of the victory while also critiquing the timing of the chase.

According to the latest analysis, if Pakistan had chased down the target inside the 14th over, their net run rate would have been higher than the USA's.

"A good win for Pakistan in the end; this temperament was needed against India too. Still feel 107 runs against a team like Canada should have been chased before 17.3 overs," Shehzad posted.

In a recent interview with a local sports platform, veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik emphasized the significance of the win over net run rate considerations.

"The win was more important than the net run rate; at least you got back on track. The way you finished the match in 17.3 overs, you could have finished it in at least 14-15 overs, and on top of that, I must give credit to Mohammad Amir—he bowled very well. The way he was given the third over was the right decision by Babar then, and it's good to see Amir bowling the way he used to," Malik said.
