Malik highlighted that he is in excellent physical shape and is playing the sport with great enthusiasm
Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik has expressed his desire for clarity before considering playing for Pakistan again.
While speaking to media in a local event, Malik highlighted that he is in excellent physical shape and is playing the sport with great enthusiasm. The cricketer is currently eyeing a personal milestone, aiming to surpass Chris Gayle's record with 2000 more runs.
"I am playing cricket and playing with great enthusiasm. My goal is to reach Chris Gayle’s record which require 2000 runs to become the batter in the world. I never had any issue with my physical fitness,” Malik said.
While his focus is on achieving a significant batting record, Malik emphasized the need for clarity regarding his potential inclusion in the national squad. "If I will be given clarity and will be asked to play, then I will definitely consider," Malik asserted, indicating that a clear communication from the cricket authorities would be a deciding factor in his return.
The all-rounder clarified that his motivation to continue playing is not solely centered around the 2024 World Cup.
"It isn't like I am playing cricket because I want to play in the 2024 World Cup. I am playing cricket because I enjoy playing cricket and I can play cricket,” he concluded.
