The iconic 'Baggy Green' cap worn by Australia’s legendary cricketer Sir Don Bradman during his last Test series has been sold at auction for a staggering amount.

According to international media reports, the cap was sold for 390,000 Australian dollars at a local auction in Sydney on December 3. This amount converts to over 70 million Pakistani rupees.

The report further revealed that Sir Don Bradman wore this cap during his final Test series in 1947-48 against India in Australia. During this series, Bradman delivered a stellar performance, scoring his 100th first-class century. The right-handed batter accumulated 715 runs in six innings, including three centuries and one double century.

Notably, this is the only Baggy Green cap from that series that has been preserved. The report mentioned that Bradman gifted this cap to Pankaj Kumar Gupta, the manager of the Indian team at the time. After many years, a collector bought the cap and later donated it to the Bradman Museum, from where it was eventually auctioned.

Sir Don Bradman, widely regarded as the greatest batsman in cricket history, scored 6,996 runs at an average of 99.94 across 52 Test matches, which included 29 centuries and 13 half-centuries. He also holds the record for the most double centuries (12) in the longer format of the game.

Bradman passed away in 2001 at the age of 92.
