Left-arm pacer has been isolated at a separate hotel
Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Sohail Tanvir has tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of Lanka Premier League (LPL).
Tanvir was tested for Covid-19 upon his arrival in Sri Lanka, where he was supposed to represent Kandy Tuskers in the upcoming T20 event.
"My Covid-19 tests in Pakistan on November 17 and 18 were negative but surprisingly the one conducted in Colombo, upon my arrival, was positive," said Tanvir while talking to Express News. "I'm self-isolating at the moment and hopefully my next test will be negative."
Earlier today, Canadian batsman Ravinderpal Singh also tested positive for the virus and has been isolated along with Tanvir at a separate hotel.
Tuskers had signed Tanvir as replacement for Wahab Riaz , who had to withdraw from the tournament after being named in the 35-member Pakistan squad for New Zealand tour. Tanvir’s participation in the tournament depends on his recovery, but the pacer is expected to at least miss the first two weeks of the event.
The Pakistan left-arm pacer was an integral member of Multan Sultans’ side in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five playoffs.
