Somerset signs Riley Meredith for Vitality Blast Campaign

Australian fast bowler Riley Meredith has signed with Somerset for their Vitality Blast campaign. He will stay with the team at least until the quarter-finals of the competition.

Meredith will also play in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup group stages and a few Vitality County Championship matches.

"I'm looking forward to the challenge of playing in English conditions and I can't wait to get started. "Somerset are the current Vitality Blast champions and I'll be doing everything I can to help them retain the title," Meredith said.

"Somerset is one of the biggest names in English cricket, and I'm excited to be part of their team this year," he further added.

It is worth noting that so far, Meredith has played five T20Is for Australia, taking eight wickets at an average of 23.50. He also played one ODI against the West Indies in 2021.

In his T20 career, Meredith has taken 114 wickets in 91 matches, with an average of 25.42. His best performance was 4 for 21 for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League. He has also played for the Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings in the IPL.
