Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against the West Indies, set to take place from May 23 to May 26 in Jamaica.

In preparation for the T20 World Cup, CSA has decided to rest key players Aiden Markram, David Miller, and Heinrich Klaasen, focusing on keeping them fresh for the major tournament. Stepping into the leadership role in their absence, Rassie van der Dussen will captain the team for the Caribbean tour.

The series, to be held at Sabina Park, Jamaica, is a vital part of both teams' World Cup preparations. Van der Dussen's appointment as captain is notable, as he is not part of South Africa's World Cup squad, indicating CSA's strategy to test their bench strength.

Following the West Indies series, the South African team will head to Florida for an intra-squad match as part of their World Cup preparations. The Proteas are placed in Group D for the tournament, along with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and the Netherlands.

They will kick off their World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on June 3 at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York.
