South Africa’s legendary former pacer Makhaya Ntini, in a column for the International Cricket Council (ICC), expressed his excitement at watching Pakistan’s Under19 (U19) captain Rohail Nazir perform during the upcoming ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2020 in South Africa.

The former pacer claimed that Pakistan boasted a talented line-up while praising the qualities of its leader Nazir.

“Pakistan, too, have a lot of exciting players and I’m looking forward to seeing how Rohail Nazir performs with the bat,” Ntini said. “As captain of his country, there will be some pressure on his shoulders but at 18, he’s already shown himself to be a very strong player and a leader too, both in the field and with the bat,” he added.

Ntini expressed his excitement at watching the wicketkeeper-batsman face the best in the world during the upcoming ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2020.

“Rohail has already played first-class and List A cricket and was on a good run of form late in 2019, so it’ll be exciting to see how he goes against some world-class bowlers,” he concluded.

Pakistan’s U19 team is scheduled to begin its campaign against Scotland’s U19 team on January 19.
