Sri Lanka announce squad for ODI series against India

Sri Lanka has unveiled its squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against India, setting the stage for a highly anticipated contest.

Charith Asalanka, who was recently appointed as the captain for the T20I format, will also lead the team in the ODI series.

Seam-bowling all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne returns to the white-ball setup after a hiatus from the T20I series.

Sri Lanka’s top-order boasts a strong lineup with Pathum Nissanka, Avishka Fernando, and Kusal Mendis anchoring the batting.

Emerging talent Sadeera Samarawickrama, who has shown notable progress in ODI cricket, will occupy the number four position.

He will be followed by skipper Asalanka, Janith Liyanage, and the dynamic spin-bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga.

The first ODI is scheduled for August 2, with the other two ODIs to be held on August 4 and August 7.
