Sri Lanka Cricket has announced the appointment of former England batsman Ian Bell as the batting coach for their ongoing tour of England.

Bell, a seasoned player with extensive experience on English pitches, will begin his role on August 16th and continue through the three-test match series.

Ian Bell brings a wealth of experience to the team. During his career, he played in 118 test matches for England, amassing 7,727 runs at an impressive average of 42.69. He also boasts 22 test centuries, reflecting his skill and consistency at the crease.

Ashley De Silva, the CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket, expressed optimism about Bell’s appointment.

“We appointed Ian to bring in a person with local knowledge to help the players with key insights on the conditions there. Ian has a lot of experience playing in England, and we believe his inputs will help our team in this crucial tour,” Ashley De Silva said.

With Bell's knowledge of the local conditions and his proven track record, Sri Lanka hopes to gain a competitive edge in their matches against England.
