Sri Lanka Cricket issues clarification regarding presentation cheque mistake

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has issued a clarification regarding the presentation cheque mistake that occurred during the prize-giving ceremony for the first Test match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

SLC has confirmed that the correct prize money for the winning team [Pakistan] is US$5000.

Pakistan captain, Babar Azam, was handed a presentation cheque that showed two different amounts in prize money. The cheque shows the prize money to be US$2000 in writing, but US$5000 in figures.

The error was first noticed by fans on social media, who shared images of the cheque.

SLC has since apologized for the error and has promised to take steps to ensure that such mistakes do not happen in the future.
