Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has issued a firm denial regarding the claims made in a recent article titled “Drinking Party Inside Team Hotel Before South Africa Match?” The article, published in a weekend newspaper on July 7th and subsequently spread on social media, alleged misconduct by the national cricket team.
In an official statement, SLC categorically refuted the contents of the article, labeling the report as "entirely false, fabricated, and baseless." The cricket board asserted that no such incidents, as described in the article, took place and emphasized that the publication's claims were entirely unfounded.
"Sri Lanka Cricket vehemently believes that such false reporting unfairly damages the reputation of Sri Lanka Cricket, its officials, and the players," the statement read.
In response to the allegations, Sri Lanka Cricket has formally requested the newspaper in question to publish a ‘Right of Reply.’ This request aims to address and rectify the perceived damage caused by the publication of the false report. SLC seeks to restore its reputation and ensure the public is accurately informed about the conduct of its officials and players.
