The Sri Lankan Cricket Board has decided to enhance the security protocols for the Pakistani players and coaches participating in the Lanka Premier League 2021 following the brutal murder of a Sri Lankan national in Sialkot, Pakistan.

There are a total of nine Pakistani cricketers who are participating in the Lanka Premier League, which includes Mohammad Hafeez, Muhammad Umar, Shoaib Malik, Wahab Riaz, and Sohaib Maqsood.

Anwar Ali, Muhammad Irfan, Usman Shinwari, and Ahmed Shahzad are also playing the domestic league. In addition to that, there are a number of Pakistani coaches and staff members who are working alongside the Sri Lankan T20 franchises.

All the league stage matches will take place at Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, while the playoff games are scheduled to take place at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium in Hambantota.
