Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) remain very of hosting Asia Cup this year despite the ongoing political crisis in the country.

The decision whether the tournament will be staged in Sri Lanka or moved to other country is likely to be taken by Asian Cricket Council (ACC) today.

According to a report in Cricinfo, secretary at Sri Lanka Cricket Mohan de Silva says cricket has remained immune from all the protests as the protestors demand resignation of Sri Lankan president Gotabaya Rajapaksa and prime minister Ranil Wickeremesinghe.

The Australian cricket team recently completed their lengthy tour of Sri Lanka, which consisted of three T20Is, five ODIs and two Test matches while Pakistan will start two-match Test series from tomorrow.

"As far as we are concerned, we are still very confident of hosting the tournament in Sri Lanka," de Silva said [as quoted by Cricinfo].

"We have just hosted the Australian tour with two Tests in Galle, and Pakistan are in the country as well." When asked if there has been any pressure to move from the ACC, he said "not really".
