Sri Lankan cricketer Kusal Mendis was arrested on Sunday after he was involved in a fatal car accident, which killed a 64-year-old cyclist in the Colombo suburb of Panadura.
According to the Sri Lankan Police Spokesperson SSP Jaliya Senaratne, the incident occurred early morning on Sunday when the SUV of Kusal Mendis crashed into a bicycle. The victim was a resident of the Gorakapola area in Panadura.

Senaratne added that the 25-year-old cricketer will be examined by the doctor and produced before a magistrate later on Sunday.
Police will continue to further investigate the fatal accident.
Mendis has represented Sri Lanka in 44 Tests and 76 One-day International (ODIs).
