Sri Lanka's Kamindu Mendis has been honored as the ICC Men's Emerging Cricketer of the Year by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Mendis was chosen for the award ahead of other nominees, including Pakistan's opener Saim Ayub, England's fast bowler Gus Atkinson, and West Indies' Shimr Joseph.
According to the ICC, Kamindu Mendis delivered exceptional performances across all formats in 2024, amassing a total of 1,451 runs in 32 matches.
The 26-year-old showcased remarkable consistency in Test cricket, scoring 1,049 runs in just 9 matches, including five centuries. His highest score of the year was an unbeaten 182.
