Legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has proposed a strategy to elevate India's Test cricket dominance to unprecedented levels.

Gavaskar believes that including Hardik Pandya in the playing XI could make India unbeatable in the format.

India, under various captains, including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, has consistently excelled in Test cricket, reaching the top of the ICC rankings and even reaching the finals of the inaugural World Test Championship twice. Despite these achievements, India fell short in both finals against New Zealand and Australia.

Gavaskar emphasized that Hardik Pandya's return to Test cricket could be pivotal. He suggested that Pandya's ability to bowl ten overs a day alongside his batting prowess could transform India's prospects. With a busy Test schedule ahead, including series against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and a crucial Border-Gavaskar series in Australia, Gavaskar believes Pandya's inclusion could bolster India's chances in winning the World Test Championship and overcoming Australia on their home turf.

"Yes, absolutely, they can. I think in the next two months, there should be an attempt to convince Hardik Pandya to play Test cricket. If he bowls ten overs a day to go with his batting, this Indian team could become invincible, and they can surely go on and win the WTC and beat Australia in Australia," Gavaskar said.

However, Pandya himself has expressed reservations due to injury concerns and workload management issues, focusing more on limited-overs formats where he has excelled as a match-winner.
