Former Indian cricket captain Sunil Gavaskar has predicted that Rohit Sharma may retire from Test cricket if he fails to perform in the upcoming Tests.

Gavaskar stated that if Rohit Sharma has poor performances in the upcoming matches in Melbourne and Sydney, he might step down from his position as captain without waiting for the selectors' decision. He believes that if Rohit fails to score runs in the next two Tests, he will likely retire from Test cricket.

The former captain emphasized that Rohit Sharma is not the type of player to become a burden on the team. "He is a player who cares deeply about the team's success," Gavaskar added.

It is worth noting that Rohit Sharma has scored only 152 runs at an average of 11.83 in his last 13 Test innings, with just one half-century.
