Prior to the incident, Shadab had made a modest contribution with the bat, scoring 9 runs off 8 balls
Pakistan all-rounder, Shadab Khan, who made his Sussex debut against Somerset on Friday, was involved in a nasty collision with his teammate, Nathan McAndrew, while attempting to take a catch. The collision occurred on the fourth ball of the seventh over when Tom Kohler-Cadmore top-edged a delivery over extra cover.
As Shadab ran backward to secure the catch, he collided with Nathan McAndrew, who was also sprinting from long off to make the catch. Both fielders went down on the ground and required immediate medical attention. The game was temporarily halted for approximately 10 minutes to ensure their well-being.

Although the catch was dropped, the primary concern was the health and safety of the players.
Following the collision, Nathan McAndrew was able to take the field after receiving medical attention. However, as a precautionary measure, Shadab Khan did not return to the field and remained in the dug-out for the rest of the match.
Sussex head coach, Paul Farbrace, provided an update on Shadab's condition, stating, "Shadab is alright. He has a bit of a sore neck. The doctor felt that it was best to take him out of the game, nervous of obviously concussion. They both are alright, that’s the most important thing. It could have been a lot worse. They are both okay and there are no nasty injuries, so that’s a good sign."

Prior to the incident, Shadab had made a modest contribution with the bat, scoring 9 runs off 8 balls, including a six. Unfortunately, he did not get an opportunity to showcase his bowling skills due to the collision. As a result, Somerset comfortably chased the target of 184, securing victory with five wickets in hand.
While the match didn't end as desired for Sussex, the positive news is that both Shadab and McAndrew avoided serious injuries.
