The ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, hosted across the USA and West Indies, has come under scrutiny following India's opening match against Ireland on Wednesday.

Reports reveal that the stadium witnessed significant empty seats, particularly in the premium North and South stands, where tickets were priced at $1000.

Although official attendance figures have not been disclosed, it is estimated that approximately 20,000 spectators were present during the match. However, many attendees expressed dissatisfaction with the facilities provided in exchange for the ticket price.

As anticipation builds for the match between Pakistan and the USA , concerns regarding ticket sales persist. Seats in the Diamond Club ($10,000), Corner Club ($2,750), and Premium Club Lounge ($2,500) categories are still available.

Of heightened concern is the much-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan scheduled for Sunday, June 9. Stakeholders have urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to enhance stadium arrangements in New York to ensure a successful event.

Industry insiders warn that the success of the USA leg of the tournament hinges largely on the India-Pakistan fixture. Failure to fill the stadium for this marquee matchup could be a significant embarrassment for the ICC. With limited time remaining, efforts to rectify the situation are imperative.

It is worth noting that there was a massive turnout of 90,000 to 100,000 spectators during their Pakistan, India last encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium in India during the ODI World Cup 2023.
