Australian captain Mitchell Marsh offered an update on the injury of key bowler Mitchell Starc.

Against Oman in T20 World Cup 2024 match, Starc had to leave the field during his fourth over, having only bowled one delivery before being replaced by Cameron Green.

Starc was visibly in pain and received immediate treatment from the physios. Glenn Maxwell finished the over that Starc had started.

Marsh assured fans in the post-match presentation, saying, "Starcy was just a cramp so didn't want to take a chance. When Starcy says I am okay to go off you let him go off."

Before his exit, Starc had delivered three effective overs, taking two wickets and conceding only 20 runs. Despite his early departure, Australia managed to secure a 39-run victory over Oman on Thursday.

The Australian innings faced a brief setback when Mehran Khan dismissed both Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell in a single over. However, the team bounced back, thanks to significant contributions from Marcus Stoinis and David Warner, who both scored fifties, helping Australia reach a competitive total of 164 runs.

Reflecting on the match, Marsh commented, "Close game. Good to get the win. It's not going to be the 200 types in this tournament. We are kind of going to the old T20 style here in this tournament."

It is worth noting that Australia's next challenge is against England on Saturday, June 8, at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
