In a thrilling encounter at the Nassau County International Stadium on Sunday, Pakistan fell short in chasing a modest target of 120 runs, leading to a wave of reactions from former Indian cricketers.

The Men in Green faced consecutive losses in the ongoing mega-event tournament against the co-hosts, the USA, and the Rohit-led India team. They now have two remaining group matches against Canada and Ireland.

Former Indian cricketers and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah took to the social media platform 'X' to congratulate the Men in Blue on their nail-biting, match-winning performance against Pakistan.

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar praised the bowlers, stating, "India vs Pakistan. New continent, same result. T20 may be a batters' game, but in New York, bowlers were the Apple of our eyes today. What a thrilling match! Great atmosphere and a wonderful exhibition of our great game in America. Well played, India."

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah also expressed his joy over the victory, emphasizing its significance due to Pakistan's rivalry. "One more WIN, and this one... means a little more! Let's keep this going."

Former all-rounder Irfan Pathan admired pacer Jasprit Bumrah, simply stating, "Bumrah you are my hero."

Former opener Virender Sehwag highlighted Bumrah's crucial role in securing the win. "The one who snatches win from the jaws of defeat is Bumrah. What a fabulous spell and a very special win in New York."

Former Indian all-rounder Suresh Raina lauded the team's determination and hunger for victory.

"Congratulations, team India! Great character and hunger to win against Pakistan," he tweeted.

Anil Kumble, the spin legend, commended the team for defending the lowest total in the tournament's history.

"Joint lowest-ever total defended in a T20 World Cup! Congratulations Team India," Kumble tweeted.

Harbhajan Singh celebrated the win with a spirited message, praising both Bumrah and Rishabh Pant for their performances.

"Congratulations Team India! Buraaaahhhh chak de phatte. Superb knock by Rishabh Pant and Top bowling by Jasprit Bumrah and the whole unit. Way to go. Now the score is 15 times India has won and only one time Pakistan has won against India in World Cup matches. Seems like a tennis score," he tweeted.
