Pakistan suffered a significant setback near the end of the run-chase when star pacer Shaheen Afridi walked off the field with a knee injury
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, England limited Pakistan to 137 runs before chasing down the target in 19 overs to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Ben Stokes scored a half-century to lead the three lions to victory and winning the trophy for the second time. Sam Curran and Adil Rashid shone with the ball.

Meanwhile, both former and current cricketers supported the Men in Green and praised their fightback despite losing in the final.
England is the first men's team to hold both the ODI and T20 World Cup titles.
Ben Stokes scored an unbeaten 52 runs in 49 balls to help his team to victory. Moeen Ali came in for a cameo of 19 runs in 12 balls at the tail end of the run chase. Meanwhile, Jos Buttler scored 26 runs in 17 balls.
