Former cricketer Rashid Latif believes that Pakistan head coach Misbahul Haq played an integral role in selecting the T20I squad for South Africa series. He also advised the Men in Green chief selector, Mohammad Wasim, to assert his authority in squad selection.

Upon finding out that middle-order batsman Iftikhar Ahmed has made the 20-member squad, the former captain termed it ‘Misbah’s team’.

“This is Misbah’s team,” said Latif in a video on his Youtube channel 'Caught Behind'.

“The T20I squad suggest that Misbahul Haq is dominating the selections. Keep going Mohammad Wasim, but try to take some decisions yourself as well instead of letting others dictate things. We got the [selected] squad before you did,” he added.

However, the former wicketkeeper added that he was satisfied with the overall squad.

The iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will be the venue of the three T20Is, which are scheduled for February 11, 13 and 14.
