New Zealand pacer Tim Southee has signed up for the player draft for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024-25 season. The announcement was made on Tuesday through the official PSL social media channels, showcasing a banner with the message, "Kiwi pace supreme Tim Southee enters the HBL PSL Draft."

At 36, Southee is one of the most experienced players in T20 cricket, with a remarkable career spanning 126 T20I matches. He has claimed 164 wickets and is currently the highest wicket-taker in T20I cricket history. 

Southee brings with him a wealth of franchise league experience, having played in several top competitions, including the Indian Premier League (IPL), The Hundred Men's Competition, Vitality Blast, and the Champions League T20. Over his 10 IPL seasons, he has represented several teams, including Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Kolkata Knight Riders.

Southee is the fourth New Zealand player to register for the PSL 10 draft. This year’s draft will be held in Gwadar, Balochistan, on January 11, 2025, marking the first time the event will be hosted in this city.

The pick order for the draft has also been revealed, with Lahore Qalandars, the two-time champions, making the first pick in the platinum category. They will be followed by Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and defending champions Islamabad United.

Registered foreign players for PSL 10 include: Tim Southee, Martin Guptill, Rassie van der Dussen, Matthew Short, Gudakesh Motie, Alex Hales, Luke Wood, Sean Abbott, Alex Carey, Usman Khawaja, Corbin Bosh, Rilee Rossouw, Colin Munro, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Tom Curran, David Willey, Dawid Malan, Jason Roy, Shakib Al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, and Sikandar Raza.
