The tournament will feature four teams
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the squads for the 2024 Duleep Trophy, set to commence from September 5. A selection panel, headed by BCCI's chief selector Ajit Agarkar, has finalized the teams for the competition.
The tournament will feature four teams: India A, captained by Shubman Gill; India B, led by Abhimanyu Easwaran; India C, under Ruturaj Gaikwad; and India D, captained by Shreyas Iyer. These teams will compete across six matches, with the tournament concluding on September 19.
In addition to the four captains, several prominent Indian international players will participate, including KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Arshdeep Singh.
There were earlier speculations that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma might participate in the tournament as preparation for the Bangladesh Test series beginning September 19. However, both players, along with Jasprit Bumrah and R. Ashwin, have been rested.
