Islamabad United have suffered a huge blow as the second phase of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) edges closer to its conclusion.

The United skipper Shadab Khan and Zeeshan Zameer have both been ruled out of the clash against Peshawar Zalmi due to injuries picked up in the game against Karachi Kings.

Shadab's groin injury has again forced the player out of action as he walked back without bowling a single delivery against Karachi Kings.

On the other hand, Zeeshan Zameer has also been ruled out due to a side strain that he suffered from after removing Babar Azam in their clutch victory against Kings.

Islamabad United, who sits third on the points table, have also lost Alex Hales as he flew back due to personal reasons. Earlier, Paul Stirling also left the squad due to international commitments while Rahmaullah Gurbaz is also expected to travel back soon.

The franchise announced Englishman Will Jacks as Gurbaz's replacement earlier this week.
