The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has refused to host the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 due to a prior commitment with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

According to sources, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) contacted the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) with a request to move the rest of the IPL to the UAE. However, the ECB informed the Indian board that the Dubai venue had already been booked for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10.

The PCB finalized its agreement to shift the remaining PSL matches to Dubai on the night of May 8, and an official announcement was made shortly after.

With the Dubai stadium unavailable, the UAE has postponed any decision regarding hosting the IPL. This leaves the BCCI looking for alternative options.

Reports suggest that the Indian board may try to resume the IPL later this year, possibly in September. However, this could cause scheduling conflicts with the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.

Meanwhile, the PCB has confirmed that all remaining PSL 10 fixtures — including the playoffs and final — will now be held in the UAE due to unexpected developments in the region. The board has assured that new dates and venues will be announced soon.

Earlier, Match 27 of PSL 10 between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings was rescheduled just hours before the toss at Rawalpindi due to safety concerns, further prompting the move.

With only four league matches and four playoff games left, the PSL 10 is entering its final and most crucial phase.
