Sources confirming that the much-anticipated Pakistan-India match will take place at the Dubai Stadium
The UAE has been finalized as the neutral venue for the ICC Champions Trophy, with sources confirming that the much-anticipated Pakistan-India match will take place at the Dubai Stadium. Additionally, the Indian team will play all their pool matches in Dubai.
PCB sources have verified that last night, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met with Sheikh Nahyan Al Mubarak, the head of the UAE Cricket Board. During the meeting, Dubai Stadium was confirmed as the neutral venue for the tournament. Sheikh Nahyan, who is currently vacationing in the Ghotki region of Sindh, discussed various logistical and administrative matters with the PCB chairman.
The meeting also included discussions on easing visa processes for Pakistani fans and addressing logistical challenges. Sheikh Nahyan assured the PCB chairman of his full support in resolving these issues and ensuring smooth arrangements for the tournament.
Previously, the PCB had explored venues in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Colombo, Sri Lanka, but logistical challenges led to the decision to host the tournament in the UAE.
Sources further confirmed that if the Indian team qualifies for the semifinals or final, those matches will also be hosted at the Dubai Stadium.
