Former Pakistan pacer Umar Gul has been named Afghanistan's bowling coach, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) stated in a press release.
Gul, who previously worked with the Afghanistan players on their camp in the UAE, will join the side on their tour of Zimbabwe, where they will play three ODIs and as many T20Is.
According to the press release, Gul was appointed 'considering his effectiveness in the camp' which was held last month.

"Afghanistan National Cricket Team has departed to Zimbabwe this afternoon, where they will feature in three ICC Cricket World Cup Super League ODIs and as many T20I matches against the hosts from June 4 to 14 in Harare," read the statement from ACB.
Gul, renowned for his exploits with reverse swing, represented Pakistan in 237 matches, where he bagged 427 wickets.
