Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan admitted on Sunday that he has not been able to replicate his Pakistan Super League (PSL) performances at the international level.

Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, the all-rounder opened up about his recent form and the team’s progress in the ongoing PSL season.

“I’m not delivering the kind of performances in international cricket that I have been in the PSL,” he said. “But I’ve worked hard in domestic cricket and am trying to minimize my mistakes.”

Reflecting on Pakistan’s recent tour of New Zealand, Shadab said it wasn’t an ideal campaign. “It didn’t go very well. However, we believe in supporting players through tough times—when you stand by your players, they eventually perform,” he stated.

The 25-year-old also acknowledged that 2024 had not been a great year for the national team. “It wasn’t a good year overall, but we’re hopeful that players will regain form and carry that forward.”

He praised fellow cricketer Sahibzada Farhan, saying, “He’s currently in top form, and we wish him all the best. Hopefully, he can continue this in the Pakistan team as well.”

Speaking about his teammate, the skipper added, “Hasan Ali worked really hard last year and is now reaping the rewards of that effort.”

On the domestic front, Islamabad United remains unbeaten in PSL 10 so far. The team has won all four of its matches, placing it at the top of the points table with 8 points.

Shadab concluded by expressing confidence in the squad and hoped their strong performance would continue through the rest of the tournament.
