Veteran Pakistan umpire Aleem Dar faced the effects of a severe heatwave during the first ODI played between Pakistan and West Indies at the Multan Cricket Stadium yesterday.
As a result, the 54-year-old walked off the field midway through the contest and was subsequently replaced by the fourth umpire Faisal Afridi.
The incident occurred during the middle phase of the second innings, with the official complaining about having a headache. Dar reportedly fell ill and vomited after going off the field. It must be noted that the temperature at Multan was recorded near about 45 degree celsius on Wednesday.
The weather conditions have been a talking point in the ODI series because the temperature is on the higher side.
Remember, the series was initially scheduled in Rawalpindi but due to political tensions in the capital, it was moved to Multan.
