USA fast bowler Ali Khan has his sights set on challenging cricket superstars Virat Kohli and Babar Azam during the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup.
Last week, Ali Khan was spotted atop the Empire State Building, proudly holding the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy as part of its global tour.
This tournament marks a significant moment for the United States as it hosts its first-ever World Cup cricket event, in collaboration with the West Indies. The US team will engage in four group stage matches across three venues in the country, commencing with a face-off against regional rival Canada in Grand Prairie.
Among their adversaries are cricket powerhouses India, Pakistan, and Ireland.
Ali Khan expressed eagerness for the challenge, particularly highlighting India's Virat Kohli as a formidable opponent. He acknowledged India's strong lineup but remains determined to face them head-on in their third match of the tournament.
“The player who can give me a big challenge, especially when I am bowling, will be Virat Kohli. He is one of them. India has some really good players and we will be playing our third game against them,” Ali said.
Ali Khan also singled out Pakistan's Babar Azam as another player he's looking forward to bowling against, emphasizing the special opportunity it presents.
“Pakistan have some really good players. Babar Azam is one of them. It will be really special and good experience to bowl to these special players,” he added.
