The United States will face Canada in the T20 World Cup 2024 opener at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Sunday at 7:30 PM local time (5:30 AM Monday in Pakistan).

The two North American teams have been drawn in a tough group with India, Pakistan and Ireland.

The USA enters the tournament in good form, having recently defeated Canada 4-0 and secured a historic 2-1 series win against Bangladesh. Canada, despite their loss to the USA in April, gained confidence with a victory over Nepal in a warm-up match.

USA vice-captain Aaron Jones emphasized playing fearless and positive cricket, aiming to have no regrets regardless of the outcome.

"Fearless cricket, positive cricket, smart cricket. I think that's what we're really and truly trying to do," Jones told a press conference.

"We don't want to regret anything. We want to leave everything out there on the park. And then, obviously, if we come out on top, it's great. If we don't come out on top, that's how cricket goes sometimes. But we don't want to regret anything," he added.

Similarly, Canada's skipper Saad Bin Zafar expressed excitement and readiness, aiming to play quality cricket with no pressure and full potential.

“We have finally made it. We’re finally here," Saad said.

“Everybody's excited. Everybody's itching to go. Everybody's in the performance mood. I think we are ready to go and play some quality cricket in the next few weeks.

“We don't have a lot of pressure on our shoulders. I think we just want to go and express ourselves and play to our potential. That's the brand of cricket that we're looking to play.”
