The Worcestershire Rapids kept their chances of advancing to the knockout stages of the Vitality Blast alive by putting an end to their four-match losing streak in the North Group. They secured a comfortable six-wicket victory over the Leicestershire Foxes on Sunday.

The Foxes struggled with the bat and were bowled out for a mere 112 runs in 18.1 overs, largely due to the exceptional bowling performance of Pakistan leg-spinenr, Usama Mir, who claimed a T20 career-best bowling figures of 4 for 22.

Mir's impressive display included a remarkable sequence of four wickets in just seven deliveries, leaving the Foxes struggling to build a substantial score. As his first victim, Dutch international Colin Ackerman edged a delivery that kept low, resulting in a catch by wicketkeeper Ben Cox. Shortly after, Mir dismissed Rishi Patel, who attempted a big shot but missed an attempted slog over the leg side and was given out lbw.

Mir continued his dominance in his next over. He bowled a flighted full delivery to Tom Scriven, who aimed to hit the ball into the onside but only managed to find Adam Hose, who took the catch. On the very next ball, Mir claimed his fourth wicket by bowling a delivery that turned sharply from outside off stump, passing between Michael Finan's bat and pad to hit the middle and off stumps.
