Indian batter Virat Kohli made history on Sunday during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match against New Zealand. He became the first player in international cricket to play 300 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), 100 Tests, and 100 T20Is.

Kohli’s 300th ODI appearance added another significant milestone to his already illustrious career. He is now the seventh Indian and the 18th player worldwide to play 300 ODIs.

Other Indian cricketers who have reached this remarkable milestone include former greats like Yuvraj Singh, Sourav Ganguly, Mohammad Azharuddin, Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar.

On the global stage, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for the most ODI appearances, with 463 matches. He is followed by Sri Lanka's Mahela Jayawardene, Sanath Jayasuriya, and Kumar Sangakkara.

Here’s a list of the most ODI matches played by Indian cricketers:

  • Sachin Tendulkar — 463 matches
  • MS Dhoni — 347 matches
  • Rahul Dravid — 340 matches
  • Mohammad Azharuddin — 334 matches
