Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli has reached a remarkable milestone in the Indian Premier League (IPL), becoming the first player in the tournament’s history to hit 1,000 boundaries.

The star batter achieved this feat while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Delhi Capitals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Kohli reached the landmark in style, smashing a six off Axar Patel on the third ball of the fourth over.

Kohli, who has now featured in all 18 seasons of the IPL, is one of only four players to do so. He has played 257 matches, scoring 8,190 runs — the highest in IPL history. His boundary tally includes 721 fours and 280 sixes.

With this achievement, Kohli extends his record as the player with the most fours in IPL history. In terms of sixes, he ranks third behind Chris Gayle (357) and Rohit Sharma (282).

Kohli’s consistency and longevity continue to define his legacy in the league, as he remains a cornerstone of RCB and one of the most celebrated figures in IPL cricket.
