Virat Kohli has added another milestone to his legendary career, becoming only the third batter in ODI history to score more than 14,000 runs. He achieved this feat during India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match against Pakistan.

The experienced batter now joins cricket greats Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara as the only players to reach this landmark. Kohli made his ODI debut in 2008 against Sri Lanka and has since built an incredible career.

The 36-year-old reached the milestone in his 298th ODI, boasting 50 centuries and 73 half-centuries in the format. This is not the first time Kohli has rewritten record books. In the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, he set the record for most runs in a single edition, amassing 765 runs in 11 matches, including three centuries and six fifties.

During that tournament, Kohli also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most centuries in ODI cricket, becoming the first player to reach 50 hundreds.

With another major achievement under his belt, Kohli continues to cement his place among the greatest batters in cricket history.
