The questions will be relayed to the Pakistan representative attending the conference
In light of the ongoing visa denial issue for Pakistan journalists by India for the ongoing World Cup 2023, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has devised a temporary solution.
Pakistan journalists will now be able to participate in the World Cup press conferences by submitting their questions through WhatsApp.
The questions will then be relayed to the Pakistan representative attending the conference, allowing them to contribute to the media discussions.
"In addition to taking questions from the media present, the Pakistan representative at the media conference will also answer a few questions sent in by members of the Pakistan media who are still to travel for the event," ICC revealed in a media release.
Previously, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) expressed its disappointment over the delay in the issuance of Indian visas to Pakistani journalists, raising concerns about their ability to provide comprehensive coverage of this highly anticipated cricket event.
Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, an ICC spokesperson assured that concerted efforts were being made to swiftly address the issue.
"This is an obligation of our host, and they are working hard on it with our full support. Every effort is being made to get this sorted," ICC spokesmen had said.
