For now, Naseem will be joining the team for the first three games, commencing at Old Trafford on Thursday
Pakistani fast-bowler, Naseem Shah, will join Leicestershire for the beginning of their T20 Vitality Blast season, as Afghanistan’s Naveen-ul-Haq's arrival has been delayed due to his participation in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).
"I'm very excited to be joining the Foxes for the start of the Vitality Blast," Naseem said. "I can't wait to meet my teammates and help win games for Leicestershire."
Naveen, who plays for the Lucknow Super Giants, is scheduled to compete against the Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator on Wednesday (May 24), which is less than 24 hours before Leicestershire's first match against Lancashire Lightning.
Consequently, Naveen will also be unavailable for the matches against Birmingham Bears (May 26) and Worcestershire Rapids (May 29).
However, if the Super Giants advance to the final on Sunday (May 28), Naveen's absence may be prolonged. For now, Naseem will be joining the team for the first three games, commencing at Old Trafford on Thursday.
