Chief Selector Wahab Riaz has announced the inclusion of seven additional players to join the training camp for the upcoming Australia Test series on Monday.

The invited players set to feature in the training camp include Arshad Iqbal, Kashif Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Shahnawaz Dahani, Usama Mir, and Usman Qadir. The decision reflects a keen focus on harnessing talent and enhancing the team's depth when required.

“The four spinners we have called in the camp are because we want to work on them and they are assets for Pakistan cricket. We will need them in the future as well and it is our duty as an organisation to work on them.

“We want to increase our pool of players available in each format. We had not prepared backups which became glaringly obvious in the World Cup but going forward, we want to implement a rotation policy as well across formats. We want to give players as much game time and preparation as we can so we can maximise our available resources at any given time. We are eying the T20 World Cup next year and we do not want to depend on just two or three players in the tournament,” Wahab said.

The squad will assemble in Rawalpindi on 22 November for a training camp ahead of the tour. The camp is scheduled to run from 23 to 28 November at Pindi Cricket Stadium. The team will fly out on 30 November from Lahore.
