Former Pakistan cricketer Waqar Younis is set to step down from his role as Advisor of Cricket Affairs to PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, just days after his appointment.

Following his recent appointment, a job advertisement for this role was published. PCB is now likely to appoint someone else in his place.

Waqar had conducted a press conference with Chairman Mohsin Naqvi shortly after his appointment. However, the former cricketer has not been present at the office for several days.

According to sources, some officials, including those from the International Cricket department, have been reluctant to collaborate with him, causing Waqar considerable frustration.

However, Waqar's decision is not linked to Pakistan's recent loss in the Rawalpindi Test against Bangladesh.

There is a possibility that Waqar will take on a mentoring role for a team in the upcoming Champions Cup, scheduled to begin next month.
