Former Pakistan pacer, Waqar Younis, provided keen insights into the much-anticipated World Cup clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan on October 14th at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

In a recent interview with a local sports channel, Waqar shed light on the intense pressure associated with such a fiercely contested match.

“There is a different pressure when it comes to an India versus Pakistan match. This time, the pressure will be more on India as they play in front of their home crowd,” he said.

The 51-year-old also acknowledged the immense pressure both teams will face in such a high-profile encounter, emphasizing that Pakistan would undoubtedly experience their fair share of nerves.

However, after their recent triumph against Sri Lanka, he expressed confidence that the Pakistan team would enter the match with a heightened sense of self-assurance.

“Pakistan will also experience pressure, but after their victory against Sri Lanka, they must be high on confidence. I expect this to be an exciting contest,” he concluded.
